How Foundation Repair Works

The repair process should move from diagnosis to design to installation—not from a visible crack straight to a predetermined product.

When to get help: If movement appears active, cracks are widening, floors are changing, or doors and windows suddenly stop operating normally, an on-site evaluation can help determine what is actually happening.

1. Evaluate the symptoms

Identify where movement appears, what has changed, and how the foundation and structure are built.

2. Determine the likely cause

Evaluation may consider support conditions, drainage, groundwater, erosion, framing, crawl-space components, or other site-specific factors.

3. Select a repair strategy

The method may involve piers, grouting, structural supports, crack repair, drainage improvements, or another approach suited to the problem.

4. Install and verify

The repair is installed according to the project scope, with required inspections or engineering involvement where applicable. Cosmetic repairs are typically handled after structural movement is addressed.
